India - No. 2
Most people say India is a very beautiful and mysterious country with it’s magnificent historical sites; rich cultures and festivities; diverse landscape; colourful, warm and inviting people.
I was very excited & a bit nervous at the same time when I found out that I will be able to attend AIESEC's International Congress in India.
Excited… to meet more than 500 delegates from all around the world, to discuss AIESEC’s Identity & it’s vision for 2010, to connect to my network of @ friends, to take Salaam to it's full potential, to enjoy the Indian heritage & culture and most exciting to meet my friend Reeti whom I haven’t met for 2 years.
Nervous… uncertainty, unfamiliar environment and not knowing how India will treat me :o)
Overall I had a very interesting experience in India…
…getting to know very helpful people who helped me finding my way to Agra
…living, working & partying together with 500 youngsters from all around the world
…Indian food & sweets – my stomach loved especially the spices
…travelling 2nd class from Agra to Delhi without AC, seat and only surround by men
…using auto rickshaws, bikes & busses on busy roads filled with people, vehicles & lots of animals :o)
But the best experience was meeting my friend Reeti in Delhi! It was awesome and she really made me feel at home. Seeing her and her family, feeling all the care and love was incredible. I had never expected that but it was like coming home to my second family. I was moved to tears. Thank you for your hospitality, love and friendship. You will be always in my heart and I hope that I will finally come back to travel & explore your India with you.
